STORY:
Sonnrain is one of the oldest labels on the winery. As early as the 2000s, Rudi was already bottling it in the early 2000s – back when Solaris and Muscaris weren’t even officially approved. Today, the grapes come from a single parcel right by the farm. A wine that tells the story of our beginnings and our path with PIWI varieties.

SITE & SOIL:
Eppan Berg, near the Ice Holes. Hof Gandberg, 520 m a.s.l. Loamy, calcareous, deep soil with a high content of white dolomite rock.
HARVEST & VINIFICATION:
Hand-harvested between 24 August and 12 September 2020, each variety picked at its optimal ripeness. Spontaneous fermentation with native yeasts. Muscaris spent 6 days on the skins. Aged 12 months on lees in large neutral oak, followed by 9 months in stainless steel. Bottled unfiltered and unfined in April 2022.
