STORY:
Tom’s very first wine – created just as he (almost) officially returned to the winery. The idea was born during a harvest internship in Austria in 2012. Waiting for the next harvest wasn’t an option – so he instructed Rudi over the phone and brought his vision for the first barrique “Abendrot” to life.

SITE & SOIL:
Pichl - St. Pauls. The vineyard Pichl lies on a rounded hill with 360° exposure. Shaped by glaciers, the soil is a mix of many rocks. A walnut tree watches over the vines – wines of depth and complexity grow here.
HARVEST & VINIFICATION:
Handpicked with care on September 26 and October 3, 2019. Spontaneous fermentation by indigenous yeasts. Three months on the skins. Aged for 31 months – half in stainless steel and half in 500L and 1000L wooden barrels on fine lees. Bottled unfiltered and unfined in April 2022. Further bottle aging followed.

Aromatic, spicy, and vibrant. A cuvée of Solaris and Muscaris that unites fragrance and structure. Delicate floral notes, Mediterranean herbs, lychee, and a salty freshness define this wine – full-bodied and persistent, yet never heavy.
Juicy, spicy, age-worthy. Old vines, selectively hand-harvested, fermented with skin contact. On the nose, ethereal spice and peppery freshness. On the palate, lively grip, fine tannin structure—juicy and appetite-stimulating. A wine that accompanies—and lingers.
A wine that isn’t made every year. Only when everything aligns – vintage, ripeness, character – do we bottle this Solaris. Powerful and rounded, with ripe apricot, nutty notes, and a smooth texture. Underpinned by vibrant mineral tension. S.ALT, from the oldest and very first Solaris vines planted in Italy.
